This new publication from the authors of The Science of Learning takes complex ideas around teaching and learning and makes them easy to understand and apply through the use of full page graphics and supportive texts. The authors are all associated with a company that provides training and professional development , drawing on the most important research findings from cognitive science.

The format of the book is visually very appealing and the double page spread enables the reader to concentrate on one subject at a time. It would be of interest to early career teachers and to more experienced professionals who are keen to keep informed about current best practice or are intending to undertake educational research.

The section on ‘How to create a warm environment to cold-call in’ was particularly interesting in terms of helping to improve student participation and increase their confidence.
